Tired of Movie Theater Popcorn?

Would you like to watch a movie without having to pay $16 for over buttered popcorn?  Would you prefer to bring your own favorite beverage instead of being stuck with a jumbo size soda?

Then you are in luck.  In the Northern Virginia area there are a number of places where you can enjoy a movie “al fresco”.  Here is a list of spots you can take in a movie and enjoy an evening under the stars.

Crystal Screen Summer Film Seriesthis summer is a Star Trek Theme.  From 1979 to 1990 you will see it all.   Starting June 7th and running through August 16th.

Movies Under the Moon-a good variety of films from Casablanca to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.   From June 24th to June 27th at Van Dyck Park in Fairfax.  Then on July 16th and July 17th the series moves to Dixon Park in Fredericksburg VA for additional showings.

Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival
-this year’s theme is I Love the 90’s.  Films run at dusk every Friday through September 3.

Starlight Drive-In Cinema-Centreville VA on Saturdays in August.  The movies are kid friendly and include Mr Fox and Aliens in the Attic.
Movies start at dark.
